“What is your favorite song?”

 

What is your favorite song? 

I always use this question to start a small talk with my colleagues. 

But for real, I really want to know their favorite songs. Because, I always listen to same songs for so long time. Later after I find a good song, I will listen to it everyday until I get bored.

So, by knowing their favorite songs, I can get song reference to listen.

Currently, there are eight people in my team. I have asked the same questions to six colleagues and there was only one person I never had chance to have a small talk. He also doesn’t live in Tokyo so we never met each other.

I feel he’s a funny and smart person and today I decided to ask this question. 

“What is your favorite song?” 

“Tough question.” 

Do you mean client problems are much easier for you? 🫣

He mentioned some of his favorite songs:

🎤 Maula Mere Maula from Anwar

He asked me what songs do I like, and if in Hindi, then I like: 

🎤 Ishq Sona Hai from Biwi No. 1 

🎤 Je t’aime from Befikre 

I’m happy he said he also likes Je t’aime! I have never watched Befikre, but this song is really catchy and addictive. 

Among all songs he recommended to me, all are slow songs. I wonder what kind of personality has. Probably, an introvert, romantic, and melancholist man 😂 

Small talk is not small talk for me. It is very meaningful. It’s not easy for me, an introvert person, to start a small talk. I can learn new things from another people.

And, what interesting for me is… my colleague hometown has the same name as me. Another new thing. 😄
