It’s just matter of priorities

Last week, I went to my hometown.

I supposed to see a friend on the first Sunday after I arrived but I didn’t.

I told him that I would go to my hometown for a short holiday and he said we should do meet up since it has been long time since last time we met.

He is working and his house is far from city centre so he said he only has free time on weekend. We decided to meet on Sunday, August 7th.

He’s not a close friend, we don’t talk often but when we talk on the phone we can talk up to five hours. He sometimes calls me as his ‘bestie’ as well.

I freed up my schedule on August 7th knowing that I would meet him.

But it was hard to contact him and fixed the plan. He sent me messages many times, “Hey.”

But when I asked, where should we meet? What time? He didn’t answer. What? A month ago he said he would decide the place 🥱

Then, I realized, okay, no expectation. If the meeting will be cancelled, it’s fine.

I just wanted to know my schedule on August 7th since there was a high-school friend who wanted to visit me at home.

On 5th or 6th, he said he would have lessons in the afternoon on 7th.

Then I said, okay, let’s meet in the evening.

“I also have lesson in the evening,” he answered 🥱

Then I knew that the meet up wouldn’t happen. It is okay. I don’t think he’s busy, it’s just matter of priorities.

He prioritized his lessons over meeting me, it is normal.

I ended up spending a good quality time on August 7th.
❤️ My high-school friend came to my house.
❤️ Went to cafe owned by my neighbor with her and my brother.
❤️ Met my cousin and his family who live near the cafe.
❤️ Went to funeral of my mom’s ex-colleague’s mom with my high-school friend, my brother, and mom.
❤️ Spent the night eating in street food in an area I had never visited before!

If I were old me, I would be angry because my friend cancelled the meet up. But now, I don’t care…
