Reason I started to learn Russian

Few days ago, I got an online certificate showing that I have taken 30 hour Russian classes in Preply.

Last year, I took two level Russian online class held by Russian Centre of Science & Culture which located in my country. Not sure, maybe around 60 hours.

But my first time learning Russian was in 2014. I have a kohai in university who loves learning language (until now). He knows I also like to study languages.

We studied basic Hindi, Turkish, Polish together before. Why did we learn those languages? 👀 I can’t remember any of words at all 🥱 .

By the way, one day in 2014, out of sudden he asked me if I wanted to study Russian.

Ты серьëзно? (Ty seryozno?)
Are you serious?

Okay! Let’s study! 😂 Without thinking any further and I didn’t even know how to say ‘hello’ or ‘thank you’ in Russian.

We studied in Russian Centre or Science & Culture (same as who held classes I joined last year). Since it was 2014, of course it’s face-to-face class. We took two levels. It was fun to study there.

Not only learning the language, but we met some friends, we sang Russian song on the stage, we tried many Russian food since there were so many events held that time.

But I didn’t study really hard. Despite of more than 100+ hours learning Russian, I still cannot handle simple conversation.

My current teacher always talks 90% in Russian. Somehow I understand, but to reply in Russian… it’s hard.

At one point, I thought… well… Russian is not that hard.

I cancel!!!

Russian is so difficult 😂

Can you imagine ‘to travel’ in Russian is ‘путешествовать’ and ‘to use’ is ‘использовать’?

Why are the words so long?

*stress*

Let’s see. I will study Russian more intensive and let’s see how will be my progress by the end of the year.

kohai (後輩) = junior
